Pride (dis)guise - Mythologies

Pride (dis)guise - Mythologies was an exhibition of photographic portraits of people from Manchester's diverse LGBT communities which used as a starting point the 21st Birthday of Manchester Pride, to ask: 'Who did you want to be when you were 21?' The exhibition showed jointly with Lee Baxter's 21 x 21 at Piccadilly Place Manchester 18th - 25th of August. The exhibition was part of Manchester Pride Fringe 2011 and was supported by Manchester Pride and Carillion, Piccadilly Place

"Lee Baxter and Jez Dolan's photos made us look like what we really are, which is beautiful"
Greg Thorpe - Blogger / DJ / Writer

The film below was also shown in the gallery space as part of the exhibition, and shows the portrait subjects talking about their reasons for becoming involved, the experience of being photographed, and who they were, or wanted to be at the age of 21

Walking Holme

Jez was commissioned to make a new piece of work for Holmfirth Arts Festival (11th - 26th June 2011). Jez collaborated with sound artist Dan Fox to create a multi - media installation based on walking a section of the river Holme. Dan and Jez walked the course of the river Holme from the source on Holme Moss, to the confluence in Huddersfield over four days in April, documenting the river, it's surroundings and their journey using film, sound recording, twitter, stills photography, mapping and geo - tagging.
